Located at Eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey, in Gümüşhane province, aquaculture produc-tion has devoloped rapidly in recent years. It was recorded as 50 tons in 1996, the level of trout production in Gümüşhane provincie has already reached at 120 tons in 1997, 309 tons in 2004, 365 tons in 2005, 552 tons in 2006, 730 tons in 2007 and 1681 tons in 2008 respectively. This study was carried out to reveal the general situation of aquaculture, problems and its future in Gümüşhane province.
