Low-back pain is one of the most common and costly musculoskeletal problems in modern society. It can cause people to stop exercising because of discomfort or fear of causing further injury to their back. Low-back pain is a costly illness for which spinal manipulative therapy is commonly recommended. Minor side effects such as increased back pain and stiffness were common but short-lived.
