Scoliosis surgery can be performed for the patients with spinal curves. This surgery helps to balance the spine by joining the vertebrae together. The surgery can achieve safe straighten spine and shoulder, it may reduce back pain problem.
Surgery for adolescents with scoliosis is only recommended when their spinal curves are greater than 40 to 45 degrees and continuing to progress, and for most patients with curves that are greater than 50 degrees.
