Abstract

Síndrome de Oclusión Folicular Cuatro Aristas de una Misma Entidad

Greco CF

Follicular occlusion syndrome includes 4 entities: abscedan cellulitis of the scalp, acne conglobata, hidradenitis suppurativa and pilonidal sinus. They constitute a tetrad, which can be presented as independent clinical nosological entities or in incomplete tables. In all cases, they are manifestations of a chronic and systemic inflammatory disease if we stick to the pathophysiological concepts supported by the scientific evidence. Multiple treatments are postulated in each pathology, with variable results. In the last decade for its inflammatory compression, biological therapies become more relevant. Our intervention is based on initiating a treatment in a timely manner to avoid the progression of the pictures, their complications and mainly better the quality of life of the patients, since they have a high negative psychological, physical and emotional impact.
