Biomarkers can be detected in various types of samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens, and can be measured using a range of technologies, from simple assays to advanced genomic profiling techniques. In recent years, significant progress has been made in identifying and validating new biomarkers for different cancer types, and several of these have already been incorporated into clinical practice.
