    Lymphoma: Understanding the Complexities of Blood Cancer

    Lymphoma is a diverse group of blood cancers that originate from abnormal growth in the lymphatic system's lymphocytes, crucial cells of the immune system. It can be broadly classified into Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), each encompassing various subtypes with unique characteristics and treatment approaches. The exact causes of lymphoma remains unclear, but certain risk factors, such as immune system disorders, viral infections, age, gender, and family history, are associated with increased susceptibility. Diagnosing lymphoma involves physical examination, blood tests, imaging studies, and lymph node biopsy. Treatment options depend on the type, stage, and individual factors, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and stem cell transplant.
