The outburst of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-COV-2) in December 2019 stumbled the mankind; the death of millions of people across the world stipulated the urge to combat COVID-19. Based on clinical data; COVID-19 along with causing upper respiratory infection managed to create gut dysbiosis and reduce immunity through gut-lung axis. Certain medication and vaccine are the current remedy; however, these are not full proof treatment to avoid COVID complications. Therefore, in this paper we highlighted the necessity to stabilize gut microbiota in order to strengthen immunity. Based on retrospective and pilot studies probiotic is proven effective as an antiviral agent or against diseases such as HIV, Influenza, Antibiotic Associated Diarrhoea and many more.
