Biography

Dr. Raghu Nadnan is a chief resident at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has a passion in the field of reconstructive surgery, namely, facial trauma, breast reconstruction, lower extremity and oncological reconstruction. He also has a keen interest in clinical outcomes research and developing patient safety and quality metrics to improve surgical outcomes. Dr. Nandan earned his Medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India and then pursued a Masters in Public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public health. During his time there, he focused in learning epidemiology, biostatistics and clinical research and worked with the Cochrane collaboration to design and implement systematic review and meta-analyses. He worked on multiple projects in surgical oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, endocrine surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery while pursuing his Masters and then continued to pursue a research fellowship for an additional year. Dr. Nandan then finished a general surgery residency from the University of Arizona, Tucson, where he also served as the administrative chief resident and then chose to specialize in Plastic and reconstructive surgery. His research has been published in major peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at both national and international meetings.
