Abstract:

Objective: Introduction to the application of autologous platelet gel in all kinds of chronic wounds repair, summarize its application methods and curative effect in treatment of various wounds repair, especially to provide a new treatment opinions and recommendations for deep soft tissue repair.

Methods: During January 2015 to January 2018, author’s department treated 76 cases of chronic wounds, including 23 cases of deep soft issue defect such as osteomyelitis of sternum in post-operation, 35 cases of chronic wounds like diabetic foot and pressure ulcer and 18 cases of other chronic wounds. All wounds were treated with autologous platelet rich plasma gel after surgical debridement.

Results: The technology can be used for the treatment of various chronic wounds, due to its positive effect to granulation hyperplasia of flat wounds, its active effect of skin grafting or skin flap repair and its superiority to close the wound of sinus tract.

Conclusion: Compared to the traditional method of repairing such as dressing, negative pressure and skin flap and myocutaneous flap, autologous platelet rich plasma gel prepared by the automatic blood component separation mechanism has more advantages in treating various chronic wounds. This method is simple and effective, safe and reliable, which has less injury to the patients and shorten treatment time. There is evidence suggesting that the method has the ability to accelerate the growth of granulation tissue, to fill deep tissue defect. It’s a new choice to repair soft tissue lacuna and sinus during primary repair.
