Abstract:

The efficiency of gallic acid derivaives as corrosion inhibitors for x-65 carbon steel in 1M hydrochloric acid solution was examined. The obtained corrosion data from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements, indicated that the corrosion inhibition efficiency of the inhibitors was demonstrated a remarkable increase. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to examine the surface morphology of carbon steel samples after immersion in 1M HCl solution in absence and presence of the inhibitor at concentration of 400 ppm. chemparadise17@yahoo.com
