Glucosamine

Glucosamine is an amino sugar and a prominent precursor in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids. Glucosamine is a natural chemical compound found in the body. As a supplement, glucosamine is most often used to try to decrease the joint pain caused by arthritis. Glucosamine is a cellulose-like combination product containing naturally occurring "building blocks" used by the body to make cartilage.
