Spear-fishing in recreational and commercial activities had been used for hundred years in worldwide, especially in the Mediterranean region. On the contrary of its initial stages, spearfishing recently has become a very popular activity due to development of technology and increasing interest of people to underwater world. This situation has brought some problems and debates, therefore regulations and arrangements have to be taken on spear-fishing throughout the world. This paper is investigated and emphasized on the laws and regulations on spearfishing both in Turkey and the World having special problems and solutions by comparing in different approaches for Turkey and the rest of the World and aims to guide future studies on this issue.
